Laguindingan International Airport served 616,661 domestic passengers during the period, with routes connecting Northern Mindanao to Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Iloilo. The performance reinforces the airport’s role as a key gateway for residents, businesses, and visitors moving across one of Mindanao’s fastest-growing regional corridors.

Bohol-Panglao International Airport, meanwhile, welcomed over 412,000 domestic passengers in the same quarter. The airport connects Bohol to Manila, Davao, Iloilo, Clark, and El Nido, supporting the province’s position as one of the country’s premier leisure and nature destinations. Bohol’s status as the Philippines’ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark continues to strengthen its pull among Filipino travelers seeking culture, heritage, beaches, and eco-tourism experiences.

According to Aboitiz InfraCapital Vice President and Head of Airports Business Rafael Aboitiz, the sustained demand reflects the value of regional connectivity and the growing confidence of travelers exploring destinations and opportunities across the country.

A Good Sign for Brands to Expand Outside the Metro

1.02 Million Domestic Travelers isn’t a small number - especially when we’re talking about regional airports. It even reinforces and signals a booming, resilient shift  towards regional hubs outside of Metro Manila.

It’s been widely recognized that Northern Mindanao and Bohol are growth engines that focus on business and leisure sectors respectively. For Laguindingan, you’re going to be looking at business travelers, entrepreneurs and the like; for bohol, you’ll be seeing more tourism and eco-conscious travelers.

If you want to target middle-to-upper income travelers, and looking to expand your horizons, these airports will be a great starting point. 1.02 million travelers is just Q1 of 2026.
