Bohol Aligns Tourism Strategy for 2027
Bohol is strengthening its tourism strategy as government agencies, tourism groups, airlines, transport operators, and private sector partners work together on the province’s next phase of growth.
The Bohol Tourism Marketing Workshop, held in Tagbilaran City on October 7, 2026, brought together stakeholders to align on the Visit Bohol 2027 campaign, priority travel markets, promotional efforts, and a working market calendar.
Bohol-Panglao International Airport operator Aboitiz InfraCapital Bohol Airport Corporation also participated in the workshop, highlighting the airport’s role in supporting the province’s growing tourism economy.
Priority Markets and Tourism Promotions
The workshop identified Korea and China as core markets, while Japan and Taiwan were named as growth markets.
Europe was positioned as an important long-stay market, while Australia and New Zealand were identified as emerging opportunities. North America also remains important for balikbayan travel.
Stakeholders also discussed tourism products, promotional partnerships, airline opportunities, and ways to strengthen Bohol’s overall destination image. Visit Bohol 2027 will serve as the main campaign, supported by the Step Into Wonder platform for different markets.
Airport Partnerships Support Travel Demand
Bohol-Panglao International Airport is also supporting tourism activity through partnerships designed to encourage more travel.
Its collaboration with Trip.com includes ₱500 off vouchers for domestic flights to and from BPIA and ₱1,000 off vouchers for international flights to and from the airport.
These initiatives provide an additional promotional channel for Bohol while supporting efforts to encourage both domestic and international travel.
What It Means for Brands Advertising at Bohol-Panglao International Airport
A stronger tourism push can also create stronger opportunities for advertisers.
As Bohol attracts more domestic and international travelers, brands gain access to a broader airport audience that includes tourists, returning residents, business travelers, and other passengers moving through the province.
Airport OOH placements can benefit from this activity, particularly in high-dwell areas such as check-in halls, departure areas, and baggage claim.
For brands in tourism, retail, food and beverage, financial services, telecommunications, transportation, and lifestyle categories, Bohol-Panglao International Airport can provide a useful point of contact with travelers arriving in and departing from one of the Philippines’ major tourism destinations
